Day secondary schools in Malava constituency are set to receive full support from the 2025/26 NG‑CDF bursary allocation, following a directive by the newly elected Member of Parliament Day secondary schools. This marks his first issuance of the kitty since assuming office.

Ndakwa said many day schools in the constituency have struggled with fee payments, as most learners come from humble backgrounds. He explained that schools with smaller populations, particularly those with fewer than 200 students, will be prioritised to ensure learners remain in class throughout the term. According to Ndakwa, the move will not only stabilise enrolment but also improve the overall academic mean of both the schools and the constituency.

The MP emphasised that local institutions will fully benefit from the bursary before consideration is given to students studying outside the constituency. He noted that this approach will accelerate the growth of infrastructure such as computer and science laboratories, enabling schools to compete effectively with established institutions.

Ndakwa also revealed plans to support total orphan students, with Friends Lukala Secondary School selected as the pilot institution. The school will identify five learners to benefit from its personal sponsorship programme.

“Besides kick‑starting education and economic empowerment programmes for widows and persons living with disabilities at the Malava NG‑CDF offices, I will also work with principals to identify total orphan learners who need assistance, and I will personally sponsor their education,” he pledged.

During the event, Presidential aide Farouk Kibet, who accompanied Ndakwa to a funeral, donated KSh 1 million towards the construction of a classroom at Friends Malava Comprehensive School. The donation was made in honour of the late Chief Inspector Good Munjalu Mufoya of the Kenya Police Service.

Kibet underscored the importance of education in the lives of Kenyans, reiterating the government’s commitment to supporting institutions across the country.
