Kenyans have raised alarm over an alleged serial fraudster accused of orchestrating a scheme to financially, emotionally, and sexually exploit teachers across several counties, with reported losses amounting to more than Sh15 million.
According to victims and police reports filed in different stations, the suspect is said to have targeted at least 15 teachers. He allegedly obtained detailed personal information, including marital status, workplace, and location, before approaching them individually.
Victims recount that the man presented himself as a senior official linked to international organizations such as the United Nations and claimed involvement in lucrative tenders. Several teachers allege that he visited them at their schools, showered them with gifts, took them out for meals and shopping, and later invited them to what he claimed was his five‑bedroom apartment in Ruaka.
Investigations have since revealed that the residence was a rented Airbnb. Victims further allege that the suspect used fake engagement rings and promises of marriage to gain their trust. Once trust was established, he reportedly persuaded them to take loans from teachers’ SACCOs or hand over large cash sums, only to disappear while claiming to be away on “special duty assignments.”
The allegations paint a disturbing picture of widespread harm. Some victims are reportedly pregnant, while others are undergoing medical or psychological treatment. One woman is said to be hospitalized after allegedly giving the suspect Sh1 million she had borrowed.

There are also claims that the suspect may have received assistance from rogue individuals who supplied confidential information and tipped him off when arrests were imminent. These allegations remain under investigation.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has confirmed that multiple complaints have been lodged and that officers are actively pursuing the suspect.
Authorities have urged the public, particularly teachers and other professionals, to remain vigilant, verify the identities of individuals claiming to hold senior positions, and report suspicious approaches to the nearest police station.
“This is a matter of public safety,” one victim said. “If action is not taken, more lives could be affected.”
Police continue to appeal to anyone with relevant information to come forward as investigations intensify.
