Learners and parents seek assistance during the ongoing Senior School Placement Revision Exercise, as the Ministry of Education outlines cluster-based support channels and timelines for approvals nationwide.

The Ministry of Education would like to let learners, parents, and all stakeholders know about the ongoing Senior School Placement Revision Exercise and where they can access assistance throughout the process. The Ministry recognises the importance of providing clear guidance to ensure that every learner has a fair opportunity to be placed in a school that matches their academic performance and aspirations.

To support the public effectively, the Ministry has distributed placement services according to school clusters, with designated officials responsible for handling approvals at each level:

Cluster 1 – National Schools: Learners seeking placement revisions for national schools should access assistance at Jogoo House, where approvals for this cluster are processed centrally.

Cluster 2 – Extra County Schools: Assistance for Extra County Schools is provided through Regional Directors of Education, who are responsible for managing approvals in their respective regions.

Cluster 3 – County Schools: Learners seeking placement in County Schools can obtain support from County Directors of Education, who oversee the approval process at the county level.

Cluster 4 – Sub-County Schools: Assistance for Sub-County Schools is available through Sub-County Directors of Education, who manage approvals within their sub-counties.

In addition, Head Teachers in all institutions have been instructed to remain on duty throughout the exercise to provide direct support to learners and parents who may require guidance. The Ministry encourages all stakeholders to contact their designated officials, depending on the school cluster of interest, to ensure inquiries and requests are directed to the correct office for prompt attention.

The exercise is fully automated through the Kenya Education Management Information System (KEMIS), enabling efficient processing of applications. Learners and parents are advised that system traffic may vary due to the volume of requests, but assistance is readily available through the offices and officials listed above.

The Ministry expects the Placement Revision Exercise to be completed within seven days, depending on the availability of school vacancies. Every effort is being made to ensure that each learner receives timely support, accurate information, and fair consideration for placement. A dedicated team of 20,000 Heads of Institutions, 400 Sub-County Directors, 47 County Directors, 8 Regional Directors, and 20 Ministry officers is working tirelessly to ensure that learners and parents receive the necessary assistance during this period.

The Ministry of Education reaffirms its commitment to providing clear guidance and accessible support throughout the placement process. Parents and learners are encouraged to seek assistance from the designated offices and officials to ensure a smooth, transparent, and fair Placement Revision Exercise.
