The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has officially released the 2024 KCSE examination certificates and dispatched them to all schools that presented candidates through the respective Sub-County Director of Education offices across the country.
In a public notice, KNEC advised candidates to liaise with the schools where they sat their examinations to collect the certificates, emphasising that access to the vital academic documents should not be restricted under any circumstances.
The examination body further issued a firm warning to school administrators, stating that it is illegal to withhold a candidate’s certificate, including cases where students have outstanding school fee balances.

Any candidate whose certificate is withheld has been urged to report the matter to the Sub-County Director of Education for immediate action.
The announcement comes as relief to thousands of former candidates who have faced challenges accessing certificates required for further education, job applications, and other official purposes.
KNEC reiterated its commitment to safeguarding candidates’ rights and ensuring fair access to examination documents nationwide.
