AIC Kathonzweni boarding comprehensive school achieved impressive results this year, thanks to parents’ input and complete support.

Speaking during the results celebrations, school deputy headteacher James Munyalo noted that their tireless efforts and plans have really paid off.

“For real, these pupils have done us great. I wish them all the best as they further their education and may their dreams come true,” Munyalo said.

Munyalo added that two pupils, Bylon Kimaiga and Rose Mutuku,  scored 71 points; those with 70 points, starting with Eunice Ndinda Sila, were nine pupils.

A total of 94 pupils scored Exceeding Expectations (EE).

Sila, who was available during the celebrations, representing others who performed excellently, said she was very delighted to join a senior high school for sciences and further pursue medicine and become a cardiologist. She thanked their parents for supporting them throughout.

To juniors, I encourage you to work hard and participate in extracurricular activities, which boost your thinking. I used to participate very well and still performed well in class,”  Sila said.

However, Munyalo noted that the school is understaffed and called for additional teaching staff. He also appealed to the government to release capitation on time so schools can run smoothly.

A parent, overwhelmed with joy, thanked teachers and all for their roles in achieving good results. He called upon the government to reduce the fee to make it affordable, given the current economic times.

Again, he made it clear that parents have yet to understand the pathways.

“I really don’t know how most of us are going to understand these new things in CBE. We are totally confused, but we keep on pushing. I am hopeful that our learners have an idea of what they are doing,” a parent said.
