A 14-year-old student from Londiani Christian Academy in Kericho County has emerged as one of the standout performers in the 2025 Kenya Junior School Education Assessment (KJSEA), scoring an impressive 7.44 out of 8 points in the national examinations released yesterday.
Ian Kiptoo, who dreams of becoming a medical doctor, exceeded expectations under the current competency-based curriculum, excelling across all learning areas.
The school president distinguished himself with top grades including Exceeding Expectation 1 (EE1) in English, Integrated Studies, Agriculture and Christian Religious Education, and EE2 in the remaining subjects including Kiswahili, Mathematics, Social Studies, Creative Arts and Sports, and Pre-technical Studies.
Speaking shortly after the results were released, the school’s head teacher, Job Langat, attributed Kiptoo’s outstanding performance to discipline, teamwork, and a supportive learning environment.
“As a school, we are proud that our learners have posted strong results, including Exceeding Expectation 1 (EE1) in English, Integrated Studies, Agriculture and Christian Religious Education, and EE2 in the remaining subjects, as an exceptional achievement. Kiptoo’s performance reflects commitment from teachers, cooperation from parents and the learner’s own hard work,” he said.

Mr Langat added that the school has invested significantly in facilities aligned with curriculum demands, including a modern science laboratory, well-equipped computer lab, adequate learning materials and a spacious field to support holistic development.
Kiptoo’s mother, Irine Korir, expressed joy and gratitude, describing her son as a God-fearing and respectful child who worships at St Lwanga Catholic Church.
“Ian’s success is rooted in his love for God, his obedience to both parents and teachers, and the strong bond he shares with his father, Stanley Korir. We have walked this journey with him as partners,” she said.
She also thanked the teachers and school management for providing consistent support and ensuring close collaboration with parents. She noted that Ian has also benefited from mentorship from his elder sister, who graduated yesterday from Laikipia University.
A grateful Ian acknowledged the team behind his achievement.
“I thank God for guiding me, my teachers for believing in me, and my parents for their support. I have performed well because of a system of people around me. I will carry these lessons forward as I work towards becoming a doctor,” he said.
Londiani Christian Academy now celebrates not just an individual triumph but a school-wide milestone that reflects its commitment to nurturing competent, confident and future-ready learners under the CBC framework.
The school posted an overall points of 6.321 out of 8.
