Vitale HGM Day and Boarding Comprehensive School burst into celebration on Thursday after preliminary updates from the national results portal showed the institution emerging as one of the standout performers in the region. More than 70 learners scored in the “Exceeding Expectations” band, confirming the school’s upward academic trajectory.
Among the top achievers were Kelvin Nyagat and Neema Dominic, whose outstanding performance placed them among the institution’s most promising candidates. Headteacher Patric Munuve, recognizable in his checked shirt as teachers gathered around the results platform, praised learners for their dedication.
Education Cabinet Secretary Dr. Julius Migos Ogamba released the 2025 Kenya Junior Secondary Education Assessment (KJSEA) results, offering a national backdrop to the celebrations witnessed in Vitale HGM.
Dr. Ogamba announced that 1,130,459 learners sat for the 2025 assessments—578,630 boys and 551,829 girls—representing the first group of Junior Secondary learners transitioning into Senior School under the Competency-Based Curriculum.

He emphasized that this year’s outcomes demonstrate the growing maturity of the CBC assessment framework, noting that learners showed strengthened problem-solving ability, practical application of knowledge, and creativity.
“This year’s results affirm that when we give learners the right environment, they rise beyond expectations,” the CS said. He added that government investments in infrastructure, teacher training, and digital assessment tools have begun to bear fruit across regions.
He encouraged schools to continue embracing holistic learning and assured institutions of ministry support as results continue uploading into the national portal.
Back at Vitale HGM, excitement continued to build as the remaining results kept loading. Teachers refreshed the portal repeatedly as parents and pupils gathered in anticipation. The school attributes its success to targeted academic interventions, improved boarding facilities, and individualized learner support programs introduced over the past two years.
A senior teacher noted, “We knew the potential was here—but seeing more than 70 learners exceeding expectations has confirmed the transformation we’ve worked toward.”
With more results still updating, Vitale HGM Day and Boarding Comprehensive School stands proudly among institutions redefining excellence—proving that with the right environment, rural schools can nurture learners who rise far above national expectations.
