A family of Lela Secondary School teacher in Kisumu County is in distress after their father went missing on October 31, 2025.
It is reported that Maricus Owino, a Mathematics teacher at Lela Secondary School was knocked by a hit and run motorbike near Kisumu Boys Gate next to Aga Khan Kisumu and sustained a head injury.
He was later rushed to Kisumu County Referral Hospital (KCRH) by acquaintances at 18:37 PM but did not get treatment. The acquaintances reached out to the family and were told to wait for them at KCRH.
The reports further states that Maricus told them to take him to Aga Khan because that is where he usually gets his treatment. They informed his brother and were told to wait until the spouse arrives.

However, they hurriedly left the hospital at 18:59 PM to take him to Aga Khan, but later decided to let him go home and boarded him to a Kibos Route 7-11 Matatu KBG 297A, and informed the conductor to drop him at Kamakaa Stage, Kibos Rd.
However, he never reached home.
According to the reports, he had no phone or any identification with him at the time of his disappearance. He was last seen wearing, a maroon printed shirt, a jeans trouser, black sneakers and a navy blue cap.
The Family now is appealing for any information of his whereabouts.
