Nyamira County government will continue to empower its youths, equipping them with modern education anchored in technology to fit the world market.
Speaking in Nyamira town during the graduation ceremony of 22 students in computer and digital Literacy, Governor Amos Nyaribo lauded the graduands for Their Unreserved commitment to completing the course. He asked them to utilise the skills they gained to improve their lives and those of their families.
“Go and use these noble acquired skills to impact your families and extend it towards the positive contribution of your county and the country.’He said.
The Governor reiterated his personal ambition to empower young people with modern skills, enabling them to become innovative, technological, and entrepreneurial.
Nyaribo further noted that the digital training programme for the youth is part of his broader vision to transform Nyamira County into a centre of innovation and technology-driven development.
He urged the graduands to be good ambassadors of change and inspire others to embrace digital literacy for their self-sustenance.
Graduands, their parents, and relatives expressed their appreciation for the government’s efforts to support them.

Jane Isanda, one of the graduands, highlighted the main disciplines they mastered in the course, ranging from Digital foundations to Content writing, Transcription, and Virtual Assistance.
Other areas covered include Web Development, Graphic Design, Cybersecurity Fundamentals, and Prompt Engineering.
Dr Alex Nyamumbo said that these skills are vital in today’s evolving world and will enable the graduands to access online job opportunities and create self-employment opportunities.
“These relevant skills will enable you to be job creators instead of seekers.
The colour ceremony, the second of its kind, attracted many academicians, civil servants, and most of the MCAs from both Nyamira and Kisii Counties.
The first ceremony of this type, where 160 youths graduated with certificates in computer and digital literacy in the county, took place in August of this year.
