Principals led by Nyatieko Secondary School Principal James Mokaya have asked parents to cooperate with the school heads in the area by paying any amount of money for the upkeep of their children at school during this hard time when the government has delayed remitting capitation money to some schools.
Mokaya noted that it has become hard for principals to manage students and teachers because of lack of money, making it hard to even facilitate few things like daily writing materials and provision of food to those who are boarding.
“We are trying to walk on a delicate bridge of financial scarcity in our school to see the term comes to an end successfully but also parents should hear our pleas and chip in to help us.” He said.
The Principal asked parents to buy requisite materials life the four figure mathematical tables, geometrical sets and transparent cupboard and rulers for candidates in advance to cushion them from panicking at the latest hours when examinations are at the corner.
Mokaya who was speaking to elites from Nyatieko Ward during their quarterly meetings thanked the community for being supportive to their schools by creating peace in the area.
“The smooth learning of institutions calls for collective responsibility from all stakeholders; I thank you for remembering us.” He said

He asked the Government to find long lasting solutions on the delayed capitation to schools in order to protect heads of institutions from unnecessary financial fears.
His views were supported by his Gesero Secondary School Principal Peter Nyarigoti who asked parents to make prior preparations to facilitate their children with enough money to feed them during the examination period.
“I remind our parents to be part and parcel of early preparation of their children for examinations because we will not allow them at school at the eleventh hour.” He said.
The Principals assured parents of their security in schools as they prepared for their exams and hopefully they will do them well
