Kuywa Girls High School in Bungoma County, yesterday received computers and digital accessories to enhance digital literacy among students.
The accessories were delivered by on behalf of the National Assembly Speaker Moses Masika Wetang’ula, who had made pledged to support the digital literacy in the school.
The initiative is aimed at enhancing digital literacy among learners and preparing them for a future shaped by technology.
Speaking during the presentation, Senator Wakoli said the move was part of Wetang’ula’s vision to bridge the digital divide in schools, particularly in rural areas where access to modern technology is often limited.
He noted that digital skills are essential in today’s world, and equipping learners early will give them a competitive edge in academics and future careers.
“This is more than a donation of computers—it is an investment in the future of our daughters. Technology is the gateway to opportunities, and we want to ensure that no girl is left behind,” Wakoli stated.
In addition to delivering the digital learning tools, the senator also made a personal contribution of 1,000 sanitary towels to the school. He explained that the gesture was intended to support girls as they prepare for their forthcoming national examinations, ensuring they remain comfortable, confident, and focused on their studies without interruptions.
