The battle for semifinal places at the FEASSSA 2025 hockey championships remains wide open after a dramatic Match Day, with little separating the tournament’s frontrunners.
In the boys’ competition, Uganda’s Kakungulu and Kenya’s St. Charles Lwanga and St. Anthony Kitale are all level on 10 points, a single goal difference keeping the three hockey sides apart. Defending champions Musingu climbed to fourth with 6 points after a convincing 4–1 win over Mbarara, keeping their hockey title defense alive.
Kakungulu brushed aside Kyadondo 4–1, while St. Anthony overcame Ntare 2–0. The only slip came for St. Charles, who were held to a 1–1 draw by Mpesa in a result that may prove costly.

The girls’ hockey contest also remains finely poised. Kenya’s Tigoi Girls and St. Joseph’s Kitale lead the standings on 10 points each. Tigoi turned on the style with a crushing 13–0 victory over Namagunga, while St. Joseph’s secured a comfortable 3–0 win over Mwiki.
Ng’iya Girls sit third on 8 points after edging Kakungulu 1–0, while Mwiki Girls round off the top four with 6 points despite their defeat. Earlier, Bweranyangi and Mushanga played out a goalless draw in the hockey contest.
