The Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) has announced an alternative application window for students who missed out on the September 2025 intake for certificate and diploma courses.
In a notice issued on August 5, 2025, the college encouraged prospective learners to consider applying for its other academic offerings, which include higher diplomas, upgrading diplomas and short courses. These programmes are still available and are accessible through the institution’s official website.
Unlike the certificate and diploma programmes placed through KUCCPS, the additional courses can be applied for directly on the KMTC portal. First-time applicants must first create an account before selecting their preferred programme.
KMTC clarified that the Higher Diploma and Upgrading Diploma programmes are meant for in-service professionals who already hold a diploma and wish to specialize or elevate their qualifications. Some of the available Higher Diploma options include Orthopedic Manual Therapy, Neurorehabilitation, and Therapeutic Equipment in Medical Engineering, Kenya Registered Nurse Anesthesia, Critical Care Nursing and Psychiatric Nursing.

These include Health Care Assistant, Safe Phlebotomy, HIV Testing Services, Sign Language for Health Workers and Echocardiography. Other part-time and short-term training options available are in Monitoring and Evaluation, Adherence Counseling, Infection Prevention, Integrated Basic Life Support/First Aid, and Point of Care Ultrasound for Midwives.
KMTC has advised interested candidates to apply early through its website, where full details of all programmes are available.
