Board of Management, (BOM) in West Pokot County has been urged to remain united and support the development of the schools.
Speaking during the inauguration of the new school BOM at Nasokol Girl’s High School, the West Pokot Sub -County Director of Education, Kamas Wepoghe Education asked BOM members to leave a legacy in their schools after 3yrs of their service.
I addition, he said that BOM members roles are important because they are involved during teacher recruitment therefore BOM members should make their teachers disciplined and comfortable for the benefit of learners.
He also asked BOM members to participate fully during BOM meetings.

“BOM members should grow their school instead of competing with other much developed schools and once again he emphasized the importance of leaving a legacy,” Kamas said.
Kamas also stressed the importance of BOM members working as a team and to face biggest challenges facing some schools including rejection of some principals and some teachers.
He however decried that learners have greatly reduced in some schools and this might force excess teachers to be balanced to the needy schools.

Amos Kibet, the West Pokot Sub – County Director of Education from the Ministry of Education said that BOM members should ensure that their schools have title deeds to curb land grabbing.
He also emphasized that school signatories should remain the same no matter the number of accounts the school might have.
He asked the members to elect a chair who can mobilise resources for the school.
