Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers, (KUPPET) and the Kenya National Union of Teachers, (KNUT) are demanding for an immediate apology from the Kisumu East MP Shakeel Shabbir after he humiliated a teacher in front parents and students.

KUPPET secretary general Akello Misori and his KNUT counterpart Collins Oyuu both threatened to hold massive demonstrations if the Mp does not apologize to the teachers.

Misori said the action by Shabbir is unacceptable in modern times and roundly condemned the reckless utterances by him.

Speaking at the Great Lakes Hotel in Kisumu, Misori who was flanked by local branch officials said the code of conduct of teachers is very clear on how to handle education matters.

He urged the teachers service commission to withdraw teachers from the school.

On his part Oyuu who also spoke in Kisumu called on the Mp to familiarize himself with article 230 of the constitution and the TSC act of 2012.
