This initiative aimed to boost learners’ classroom attendance in terms one and two. Most primary and secondary schools organise Educational Tours visiting Game Reserves and Parks situated in different parts of the country.
Educational Tours break up the marathon of classroom lessons and activities in Term 1 and part of Term 2. They also return to school with the work fresh in their minds, ready to continue with the remaining work for terms two and three.
Learners have the opportunity to observe animals like the big five, including elephants and Giraffes. Learners also get a chance to observe various rich ecosystems, including plants and water bodies like lakes, rivers, and swamps.
Other important sites to visit include Government installations, such as the Parliament, which comprises the National Assembly and the Senate.
When learners visit the Parliament and listen to legislators debating national matters, a sense of leadership is developed in the learners.
