The Public Service Commission (PSC), in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, has announced 1,000 internship vacancies in the State Department for Basic Education under the Digital Literacy Programme (DLP) Cohort 4.
The move aims to strengthen digital learning in Kenyan primary schools by deploying tech-savvy graduates to the grassroots level.
According to the announcement by PSC CEO/Secretary, successful candidates will be deployed to Sub-County Education Offices nationwide, where they will support virtual learning initiatives, train teachers, and maintain ICT systems in schools. The internship will run for 12 months, and although it is non-renewable, interns will receive a stipend and a certificate upon completion.
The programme targets graduates who completed their studies no earlier than 2020 and possess degrees or diplomas in Education with a specialisation in ICT or ICT Integration.

“We are looking for individuals who are not only academically qualified but also passionate about integrating ICT in education and driving digital innovation at the school level,” the Public Service Commission stated.
Applicants are expected to demonstrate practical knowledge in areas such as e-learning, ICT infrastructure, application development, and digital content creation.
“The interns will play a key role in supporting digital literacy and ensuring that learning continues even in the most remote corners of the country,” reads part of the internship brief.
The Digital Literacy Programme, a flagship initiative of the Kenyan government, aims to integrate technology into classroom teaching and learning — a mission that has gained renewed urgency in the post-pandemic era.
“This programme is a step toward equipping our learners and teachers with 21st-century skills while offering young graduates meaningful career exposure,” the Commission added.
Interested candidates must apply online through the Public Service Commission’s job portal at www.publicservice.go.ke or www.psckjobs.go.ke by June 23, 2025.
This internship is a key step toward bridging Kenya’s digital divide in the education sector, while simultaneously creating employment opportunities for qualified graduates.
