In a stunning display of dominance and redemption, St. Joseph’s Boys Kitale (JOBO) dismantled arch-rivals St. Anthony’s Boys (Brown Saints) 5–0 in a rescheduled Trans Nzoia County semi-final, reigniting one of Kenya’s fiercest school football rivalries.
The match was a continuation of unfinished business. Their previous encounter, held at Ndura Sports Complex, had been abandoned in the 80th minute following chaotic scenes. Tensions flared when the referee refused to award a late penalty to St. Joseph’s, sparking outrage among fans who stormed the pitch.
Match officials were forced to be rescued by police and evacuated in a Land Cruiser as the situation spiraled out of control.
The incident drew widespread condemnation and prompted a formal appeal by St. Joseph’s, citing biased officiating and unsafe match conditions.

Today’s replayed fixture, however, left no room for controversy. Jobo came out with fire in their boots, netting two goals before halftime and adding three in the second half. The emphatic win not only avenged the earlier chaos but also sent a clear message about their intent to dominate.
In the other semi-final, Bwake Boys narrowly defeated Goseta Boys 1–0 in a tightly contested match. That victory secured Bwake’s place in the final, setting up a high-stakes showdown with JOBO. The winner will earn the prestigious honour of representing Trans Nzoia County at the regional championships.
The final promises to be a spectacle, with both teams carrying momentum and ambition into what could be a defining moment in their school’s sporting legacy.
