The Ministry of Education, (MoE) has officially announced the release of university placement results for 2024 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) candidates.
The long-awaited results, processed through the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS), are expected to provide clarity to thousands of students across the country on their admission status.
The announcement was made today July 1, 2025, marking a significant milestone in the country’s education calendar. Education CS Julius Ogamba is scheduled to preside over the official release, with key ministry and KUCCPS officials in attendance.
The placement process, which began earlier this year, follows a revised model that aligns with the new higher education funding framework. Under the new system, students will be placed based on merit, career preferences and available capacity across public and private universities, with the government also considering levels of financial need in the allocation of scholarships and loans.

According to the Education Ministry, this year’s placement prioritizes equity, transparency, and alignment with national development goals. Students are expected to receive information regarding their placement via the KUCCPS student portal and SMS notifications.
The official release also paves the way for admissions into various degree programmes as universities prepare for the 2025/2026 academic year.
Institutions of higher learning are now expected to issue admission letters and guide students on reporting dates, fee structures, and government sponsorship details.
The education ministry, together with KUCCPS, has assured stakeholders that the placement was conducted fairly and efficiently, urging students and parents to access their results only through official communication channels.
