Tana River County Government has prioritised the Early Childhood Development Education Section (ECDE) in the region. Education News has been reliably established.
Speaking to Education News from Hola town in Tana River County recently, Executive Committee Member for the Education Ministry docket, Abass Kunyo, revealed that the Early Childhood Development Education Section plays an important role in the country in laying a strong foundation for young Nursery children.
He, however, disclosed that those nursery children who underwent nursery education will not have difficulties with reading and writing when they go to lower primary school.
“Children who never went to nursery schools find major problems of reading and writing when they go to lower primary schools in the country”, explained the County Executive Committee Member for Education Ministry in the region.

Kunyo, however, urged all education stakeholders in the county to work as a team by ensuring that they give the Nursery education section great attention since it plays a significant role in laying a strong foundation for the young nursery children in the country.
Additionally, he urged parents in the county to take all their school-age children to school without fail.
“Parents who will refuse to take their children to school will immediately be arrested and charged,” warned Kunyo.
The County Executive Committee Member revealed that the county’s rapid development actually needed educated people who would be charged with the responsibility of designing, planning, and implementing community development projects.
At the same time, Kunyo disclosed that the county government has set aside shillings 150 million as bursaries to cater for secondary school, College and University students from poor backgrounds in the county to pursue education in the country.
He further called on parents in the county to come forward and apply for bursaries for their children, enabling them to continue their education.
However, the County Executive Committee Member lamented that many parents in the region have failed to apply for the bursaries for their children.
He asked education stakeholders in the region to cooperate fully to enhance education levels.
