Nyeri MP donates essentials to Munyu Secondary students after fire tragedy

In a heartfelt show of solidarity, Nyeri Woman representative Rahab Mukami has come to the aid of students at Munyu Secondary School after a fire destroyed a dormitory and displaced 138 learners.

The tragic incident, which left the students without shelter and personal belongings, prompted swift action from the Woman Rep, who donated beddings and sanitary towels to the affected students.

“This small gesture is meant to ease the burden on parents and allow our children to focus on healing and continuing their education,” said Mukami during her visit to the school. “My thoughts remain with the entire school community during this difficult time.”

The fire, whose cause is still under investigation, reduced the entire dormitory to ashes. Thankfully, no injuries were reported. The school is now working closely with authorities and community stakeholders to support the students and begin rebuilding efforts.

Local leaders and education officials have also appealed for more support from both the county and national governments, as well as well-wishers, to help restore the school infrastructure and ensure learning continues uninterrupted.

The donation from Mukami marks the beginning of a hopeful recovery for Munyu Secondary, with the school community united in resilience and determination to move forward.
