The Ministry of Education (MoE), through its State Department for Technical, Vocational Education and Training (TVET), has initiated a comprehensive awareness and recruitment program across Kericho East Sub-County.

This important drive aims to engage 2024 Form 4 and Standard 8 leavers, along with their parents and guardians, including those without formal employment, encouraging their enrolment in TVET courses.

The program, aptly named “TVET Awareness and Recruitment Schedule, Kericho Township TVC,” features a series of mass enrolment open days held across various sub-locations within Kericho East. Kicking off today, Monday, June 16, 2025, the initiative will continue through to Tuesday, June 24, 2025.

The core objective is to disseminate information about the myriad opportunities available through TVET and to facilitate widespread enrolment in TVET programs, with an ambitious target of reaching 2 million students by the end of 2025. Students stand to benefit significantly from this initiative, including support through government sponsorship and scholarships, HELB/HEF funding, and even pocket money, alongside crucial career guidance.

This drive underscores the government’s steadfast commitment to championing TVET as a vital pathway to skilled employment and economic empowerment for Kenyan youth. A powerful message from President William Ruto is prominently featured, stating, “If Education is the Key, TVET is the Master Key,”

The open days are being precisely organized by the national government, with the Deputy County Commissioner serving as the Chief Guest, highlighting the high-level backing for this program.
