Khwisero MP Christopher Aseka has officially handed over a modern computer lab to Namasoli Secondary School and two new classrooms at Shirotsa Secondary School in Kisa West, Khwisero Constituency, to enhance educational standards.
National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula presided over the event, donating 30 computers to Namasoli Secondary School in partnership with Huawei. This initiative is taking strides in academics to equip the new facilities and is a step towards bringing schools into the future.
The Speaker lauded the area MP for naming the Computer lab in honour of his late Mother, Ann Wetangula.
He expressed gratitude to MP Aseka for hosting the event, saying that his mother had passed away on January 3 at the age of 94. “My mother never went to school but was so focused on Education,” said the Speaker.
Now that they have honoured her in that great school, Wetangula also adopts the school to mentor students and work with the Board of Management (BoM), adding to his mother.

He urged students to utilise computers, which will help, expose and internationalise them, “You can sit here and communicate with people anywhere in the world, Google any activities going on out there,” Wetangula emphasised.
Wetangula cautioned teachers against the use of computers to pervade the morals and minds of the students “They are impactful and can also be dangerous. Students can easily access dirty materials on the computer, make sure you log away all the dirty material on the computer so that those innocent children do not access them,” reaffirmed the Speaker.
Early this year, the Speaker was hosted by the MP at the same school to hand over the modern tuition block and made three pledges, which he subsequently fulfilled.
The pledges included the donation of computers, as well as the sponsorship of last year’s best KCSE student by Wetangula’s foundation, which will enable the student to pursue their education to the highest level. The third pledge was to purchase land for school expansion, at a cost of approximately Sh. 5 million.
