West Pokot County Government, through the enhancement of skills, has launched the ambitious Bendera Youth Driving and Young Entrepreneur Lifelong Initiative.
Speaking during the inauguration, West Pokot County Governor Simon Kachapin expressed confidence that the large number of unemployed youths would soon secure a livelihood through the well-designed transformative initiative.
Stating that some youths have been finding it increasingly hard to afford driving school fees and establish sound economic activities, the governor asked them to take advantage of the support they had received.
He said that driving lessons were crucial for developing safe, confident and competent drivers by equipping them with the knowledge and abilities to navigate roads safely.
The initiative, fully sponsored by West Pokot County in partnership with Mnagei Driving School, has empowered more than 100 youths with various skills.
Kachapin stated that the offer goes beyond since it creates requisite opportunities by empowering youths and building a stronger foundation for a self-reliant community.

“The County Government has many grand plans for improvement of people’s livelihoods and is rolling them out in stages, ” the Governor said.
