Bugo Comprehensive School library in Nyakach Sub-county, Kisumu has received a major boost following a massive book donation drive initiated by County officials and journalists
The initiative by the Chief Officer for Education, Bovince Ochieng, in conjunction with Kisumu journalists saw the Bugo community library benefit from assorted items.

The items included books, sanitary towels, toys, and other assorted items. The event was graced by Beatrice Odongo, County Executive for Sports, Culture, Gender, and Youth Affairs, alongside Dr. Stephen Orot, a former member of the County Public Service Board

Ochieng said the initiative is meant to inculcate a reading culture among the students and assist needy students who lack basic items.
The chief officer, who was the main sponsor of the event, and scribes thanked partners who participated in the initiative.
Dr Orot, the chief guest during the function, urged the students to take their studies seriously so that they could excel, calling upon parents to help teachers instil discipline in their children.
