Kapsabet ACK Bishop Paul Korir has called on the government to fully involve the church in the management of church-sponsored schools.
Korir expressed concern that the role of the church in running such institutions has been gradually eroded, which he says is worrying.
Speaking in Kapsabet town, he said continued sidelining is undermining education standards and causing unnecessary disputes.
“Our input, especially in matters concerning school leadership, is often overlooked. This has directly affected the quality of education in some of our institutions,” he said.
He cited the case of St Paul Kaptil, where the church had recommended the transfer of the school principal, but the request was ignored, resulting in a mass transfer of students.

He emphasised that the church remains committed to supporting education, noting that it plays a vital role in shaping morals and academic excellence.
Bishop Korir, flagged by other regional ACK leaders, observed that education is key to transforming society, and the church is ready to partner with the government to ensure our schools serve learners effectively.
“Education is key to transforming society. As a result, the church is ready to partner with the government to ensure our schools serve learners effectively,” Korir added.
ACK sponsors several schools in the North Rift region, and management disputes between the church and the state have escalated recently.
