The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has formally announced the vacancy for the position of Chief Executive Officer, as the current officeholder, Dr. Nancy Macharia, prepares for retirement. Dr. Macharia, who made history as the first woman to lead the Commission, is set to exit after a decade of transformative leadership.
In a notice published on its website, the Commission invited applications from qualified candidates for the position of Secretary and Chief Executive Officer. The recruitment process will follow Article 250(12) of the Constitution and Section 16(1) of the Teachers Service Commission Act, Cap 212. The position carries a five-year term, renewable once, and the compensation will be determined in line with guidelines from the Salaries and Remuneration Commission.
