The PS for Higher Education Dr. Beatrice Inyangala was honored to have hosted President William Ruto’s aide Faruok Kibet at Samitsi area in Malava Constituency where they held impactful initiatives in the education sector
The two leaders pledged to offer education support to Samitsi Girls including the purchase of a new school bus despite the demise of MP Malulu Injendi
Samitsi girls a centre of excellence has become the best performing school in Malava in just 12 years. The leaders pledged a new dormitory block completion to enhance safety measures for girls while they progress in studies
The two leaders also visited Samitsi Boys, where they promised to help school in the repair and refurbishment of its buses.
Dr. Inyangala also announced that the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) portal is now open calling upon university students to apply for placements.
“The new funding model promises better support for students, ensuring that quality higher education remains accessible to all.” Emphasized the PS
Samitsi Boys High School Principal Henry Mwiru lauded Faruk for his unwavering support towards the repair of the bus and refurbishment of the school.
The principal said the bus developed mechanical problems and was stuck since July 2022 which has been a major challenge to transport students for academic tours and co- curricular activities in other schools
During his visit to the school Faruk donated Sh. 500,000 for the repair of the school bus which will be impactful in boosting education and assisting the community
The school located at the boundary of Navakholo and Malava Constituency, Mwiru decried that reaching Malava town was very difficult to purchase stationery and other necessities for the school
Through the support of the President’s aide the principal expressed optimism to surpass this year’s KCSE target mean of 4.5
He highlighted that in 2024 the school mean dropped drastically to 3.3 with only seven candidates seeking direct entry to university
He urged parents to take their responsibility of making sure students go to school reiterating that most are absenteeism due to fees arrears.
