Kenya Secondary School Heads Association (KESSHA) has released a calendar of events for 2025. The schedule for county meetings begins from February 26 to April 26, 2024.

The county, regional, and senior officials from the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) and Ministry of Education (MoE) will attend the event.

During the meetings, principals will interact with county and regional directors and senior directors from the TSC and the MoE headquarters.

Principals will express their concerns and suggestions and pose questions to these leaders. These concerns will be communicated to superiors from both the MoE and the TSC for consideration.

Additionally, the principals will interrogate the theme for the national conference by coming up with ideas and solutions to problems faced by principals in the running of their schools.

The issues raised during these regional meetings are then summarized and shared with the national KESSHA offices, who consider them the main agenda for discussion during the national conference, thereby ensuring that the concerns of all principals are heard and addressed.

These regional meetings will culminate in a national conference, a significant event that will be held in Mombasa on June 23-27 at Sheikh Zayed Hall, bringing together principals from across the country.

Similarly, the national conference attracts top decision-makers from MoE and TSC who arrive to present their speeches and have interactive question-and-answer sessions with principals. This is considered a huge profile event within the calendar of school heads, with over 10,000 attending this crucial meeting.

The issue of school funding by the government is likely to dominate the event. The most speaking matter would be the question of delayed capitation to institutions, which directly affects school activities.

The meeting also serves as an opportunity for the school managers to unwind after a rigorous school calendar that carries itself with a lot of pressure.

The African Confederation of Principals will be held from August 25 to 28 in Speke Resort, Munyonyo, Uganda.
