Troubled Moi University VC Professor Isaac Kosgey has today presented himself to the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) in Eldoret to answer queries of mismanagement of the institution.
EACC Deputy Director Charles Rasugu confirmed that the VC had reported to the anti-corruption offices for interrogation following their summons.
“… to facilitate investigations you are invited to attend an interview and statement recording in respect of the same at the EACC offices in Eldoret,” said part of the invitation.
Prof Kosgey arrived at the offices at about 9.35 am.
The commission had further required Prof Kosgey to provide original documents, including minutes from 18 special meetings, as part of the ongoing investigations.
Other Moi University officers who have to record a statement include the Head of Development Moses Kipkulei, Head of Procurement Wilson Bett, and Chief Accountant Egla Samoei.

The EACC has already listed 11 projects valued at Ksh2.2 billion to be investigated, including School of Public Health, Dentistry and Nursing and related works for Ksh726.4 million.
Others under investigation are the proposed construction of Library Phase 11 at Annex Campus and its related works for Ksh1.1 billion, electrical installation at the School of Public Health and Dentistry worth Ksh148 million, electrical installation at the Library annex at a cost of Ksh169 million, a library project at the Annex Campus, including the mechanical and air conditioning allegedly at a cost of over Ksh35 million, construction of an ampitheatre at the main campus at an undisclosed cost, and also consultancy services for the various projects.
The university has remained in crisis for two months now after workers, including lecturers, went on strike demanding over Ksh12 billion in salary arrears.
The strike has caused significant unrest in the institution. It had reopened last week and National Treasury confirmed the disbursement of Ksh3.5 billion to cover the outstanding payments but the workers claim they are yet to be paid.
