Over 9,000 candidates to sit 2024 KCSE, KPSEA exams in Kisumu West

A total of 9,932 candidates from Kisumu West sub-county will sit for the 2024 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) and Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) exams, Education News has learnt.

According to data from the Sub County Director of Education (SCDE) Mary Oichoe, 4,636 candidates (2,424 boys and 2,212 girls) will sit for KCSE whereas 5,296 candidates (2,711 boys and 2,585 girls) drawn from 114 primary schools will sit for KPSEA exams.

The data further showed that out of the 40 secondary schools in the constituency, Maseno School will present the highest candidature of 680 students followed by Chulaimbo, Obambo, Kisian, Kanyamedha and Dago Kokore secondary schools respectively.

Oichoe urged this year’s candidates to revise thoroughly in order to attain presentable marks and impressive grades that will earn them direct entry to the university.

“It is through hard work that you will be able to achieve your academic dreams, so I wish to encourage you to double your efforts in order to excel,” she said.

The Director also asked the parents of the candidates to give them ample time to study ahead of the exams.
