Teso trounces Seme in regional tournament organized for teachers

Teso region showed scant respect for Seme in the first edition of Teso Teachers Fun Day, beating their colleague teachers in all three disciplines played at St Joseph’s Kocholia Secondary School grounds, in Malaba South Ward on Saturday.

In football, Teso men’s soccer team trounced Seme 3-0 in a scintillating match watched  by three TSC commissioners Sharon Kisire, Wakili Timon Oyucho, and Dr Nicodemus Anyang, who sponsored the one-day bonding for teachers from Seme and Teso region.

Isaac Emerikwa put Teso into the lead in the 11th minute after outpacing Seme’s defence before scoring in an empty net in the match officiated by Mathew Obore.

Evans Okucho made it 2-0   in the 18th minute to see the hosts in comfortable lead at the break. Oucho made it a brace in the 63nd minute to put victory  beyond control.

In a closely contested netball match, Teso, fielding an experienced international player and official Joseph Olita as goal defender, Teso edged Seme 10-9 with goal shooter Eunice Ndege  of Kamunyele Primary School and goal attacker  Beldine Ajija ( IsegereToto) accounting for the glorious goals.

Teso consolidated its supremacy in the ladies’ tug-of war, pulling Seme 1-0 to mark the climax of the event that saw hundreds of teachers attend.

Teso Captain Benjamin Omusugu thanked Dr. Anyang for sponsoring such a great fun day in the history of the first edition of the event in Teso.

In the men’s handball category, Angurai beat Amagoro 22-13 with Teso North beating Teso South 2-0.
