The lucky pair that gunned for the Kisii gubernatorial seat in the last general election. Kisii residents are celebrating the appointment of Julius Migosi (right) to replace Ezekiel Machogu (left), who were then running on the same ticket.

It is song and dance in Kitutu Chache North Constituency and the environs of Kisii town as residents celebrate the appointment of Julius Ogamba Migosi as the new CS for education to replace Ezekiel Machogu.

“We expected the president to reappoint Ezekiel Machogu because of his clean track record but the president has used his wisdom to appoint Migosi who is equally a good man,” said retired pastor David Mokaya.

Citing respective and industrious people like the late Dr Zachary Onyonka (Kitutu Chache), Professor Sam Ongeri (Nyaribari Masaba), and Dr Fred Matiang’i who have served in the same capacity before with zeal, they asked the incoming CS to follow in their footsteps.

Among the people who sent messages of goodwill to lawyer Ogamba include Kisii Central Ward MCA Wilfred Monyeye, former Kiogoro Ward MCA Samuel Apoko, and Ibeno Ward MCA Steve Arika.

At Kenyenya town in Bomachoge Borabu Constituency, one elder who was identified as Benson Oirere, 78, led a group of people both old and youth to thank and ask God to allow peace to prevail in the country.
