The Kenya Union of Post-Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET) Kisumu chapter has made suggestions concerning the appointment of a new education cabinet secretary.
According to Kisumu County KUPPET executive secretary Zablon Awange, the new CS should be a professional who is well-versed in matters about the sector through training and practice.
Awange while speaking in Kisumu recently said that the CS should also be a career educationist with an understanding of the fundamentals of the area as well as passionate about implementing the Competency Based Curriculum (CBC).
He said the new CS should also be keen on issues such as recruitment of teachers for both secondary, junior secondary, and primary schools.
The executive secretary said that he expects the new CS in the education docket to be keen on implementing and streamlining the Teacher’s Service Commission (TSC).
