Teachers in West Pokot County have been asked to ensure all students participate in co-curricular activities so that they can grow their talents.
West Pokot County KUPPET Assistant Executive Secretary Mathew Merimuk said that learners from the county should also have an opportunity to shine sports and academics so that they can be all-round students.
Merimuk urged students in all schools to ensure they seriously participate in co-curricular activities from the zonals to Nationals so that they can join their colleagues in various competitions in other regions.
“Co-curricular activities are part of school syllabus. County Education office, Sub Country Directors of Education, County TSC Office, TSC Sub County Directors, KESSHA leadership and teachers will join hands to ensure our students gain talented skills in co-curricular activities,” said Merimuk.

Merimuk asked all parents to support the education of their children because it is a constitutional right for all learners to access education which will be useful in their lives in future.
Merikum who was speaking during official opening of Second Term Schools Championship of Pokot South Sub-county at Kaptabuk Wembley stadium asked all participants to maintain high standards of integrity during the event.
He said that West Pokot KUPPET office provided water for the teachers during the event.
Pokot South Sub-county Director of Education Mary Kiprop said the Ministry of Education will continue supporting all co-curricular activities in schools requesting the school heads in the area to allow learners to participate in sports because it is part of school syllabus.
The event was also attended by Pokot South KESSHA Chairman one Rotino among others.
