The State Department for Basic Education has awarded tenders for construction and rehabilitation of facilities in 68 schools across Nyamira County.
According to the circular sent to Nyamira County Director of Education Samuel Kega and seen by Education News titled Nyamira Schools Project – Site Handover Schedule, the site officers have been divided into four teams that we will oversee construction work in the schools that will benefit from the project in four constituencies.
All teams are supposed to visit the sites starting today July 2 to July 5. Team one will be led by one Waguro and will be in charge of Borabu Constituency where they will visit Esise Primary, Manga Girls and St Peters Kahawa Secondary.
Others schools to benefit from Borabu are Nyansiongo Boys, Nyakwerema, Rimanoti among others.
Team two will be led by Philip Lenjo to coordinate activities in North Mugirango Constituency and the schools that will benefit include Kenyoro, Nyamauro, Nyagokiani and Matongo secondary schools and other primary schools in the area.
West Mugirango will be under team three led by Isaac Kamau to study sites at Mwongoris and Nyakemincha secondary schools as well as Nyamwetureko, Nyagachi and Nyakemincha primary schools among others.

Cabinet Secretary for Education Ezekiel Machogu, when he addressed a public gathering in Nyamira County last month, said that the upgrade project will cost KSh1.1 billion received from Kuwait Fund for Arabic Economic Development (KFAED).
“The MoE has received financing of KSh1.1 billion from Kuwait Fund for Arabic Development towards new facilities and rehabilitation of existing infrastructure of schools in Nyamira County,” CS said.
The CS added that the Project Development Objective is aimed at enhancing equal access to education and improving quality of teaching and learning in schools.
The CS asked all project coordinators and school management teams to work prudently because they will all be accountable of any mess that might occur during and after the construction and renovation exercise.
