In a remarkable effort to improve educational resources, Mulaani Primary School in Kalama Sub-county in Machakos has inaugurated a state-of-the-art science laboratory.

Excited parents could not hide their joy as the project spearheaded by an alumni Jackson Nzioki was being unveiled.

Nzioki who is also the head teacher Komboni Primary School had leveraged on his connections to secure funding from friends in the UK, culminating in a KSh3.5 million legacy project.

He told the press that the new laboratory, completed in under six months, is equipped to accommodate 25 learners at a time, providing much-needed facilities for junior secondary students.

He said that the school lacked a laboratory and had to use the one from neighbouring secondary school during practicals.

“This lab is not just for Mulaani Primary, it is for all the students in Kalama who aspire to learn and grow,” said Nzioki during the opening ceremony.

“The most important things required for a solid education are classes and laboratories. Together, we can build a brighter future for our children.”

The laboratory is designed to be a shared resource, open to neighbouring schools, including a local secondary school that also faces a shortage of facilities. This inclusive approach aims to uplift the entire community by providing access to quality education tools.
