Orero of Dagoretti High elected new KSSSA chairman

Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association has elected new officials.
Chairman of the association went to Dagoretti High School principal, Peter Orero.
He was elected unopposed during the polls, which were conducted recently at Jogoo House, Nairobi.
The new chairman, who has served for a long time as Nairobi Secondary Schools Sports chairman, will replace Kimutai Ngetich, who died in a road accident in September last year.
The only person, who would have competed with Orero, was Rodgers Mwafungo, whohad taken over as the acting chairman after the death of Kimutai.
He however, stepped down at the last moment.
The principal, who is a soccer, basketball as well as netball coach, thanked games teachers, whom he said had showed confidence in him.
He further promised to work closely with the ministry to ensure that youth get possible assistance.
Among other KSSSA officials who were elected unopposed include David Ngugi, who will continue serving the secretary general and Gikonyo Kariuki, who was elected the treasurer.
Elected vice-chairman is Kapsabet High School principal Kipchumba Maiyo, while newly elected Western Province Secondary Schools Secretary, Quinto Omusungu was elected deputy secretary general.
Moses Adala, the Ulumbi Secondary School principal, was elected to be vice treasurer.
