HAPPENING NOW: Parents of Lugulu Girls demonstrate over Form One student’s death

A section of parents at Lugulu Girls High School today morning staged a demonstration outside the institution’s gate demanding answers from the school following the death of a Form One student. The student reportedly died after a short illness.

In the video seen by Education News, some parents were chanting ‘Omwana Wefu’ (our child) while others were singing mourning songs amidst a cacophony of whistles.

However, the charged parents were denied entry to the school’s compound as the heavy presence of police cordoned off the area.

Lugulu is a national school located in Bungoma County and is famed for its excellent performance in exams and co-curricular activities.

According to the reports from one of the family members, the student one shirlyne died on Thursday.
