KATTI national ball games begin at Eldoret Polytechnic

Part of the action during KATTI National ball games.

The Kenya Association of Technical Training Institutes (KATTI) National Ball Games Season Two has kicked off at the Eldoret National Polytechnic.

This prestigious event which is done annually has drawn participants from Technical Vocational and Education Training (TVET) institutions across the country, who are ready to bring to battle in the football and basketball.

Chief Principal of Eldoret National Polytechnic Charles Koech who doubles as the Vice National Chair KATTI while speaking during the opening ceremony on Thursday June 20 warmly welcomed all the participating schools urging them to give their best in the tournament.

“We have teams from Mount Kenya West, Mount Kenya East, Northern Kenya, Nairobi region, Coast, Western, Lake Region, KATTI North Rift, and South Rift. This event provides a valuable platform for students to showcase their talents,” he stated.

At the same time, Mibei Joseph, the Chief Principal of Ziwa Technical Training Institute and Chair Sports and Recreation at KATTI, said the events is crucial and students should take it seriously.

“This is one of our annual events, referred to as Season Two of the National Ball Games. We are grateful to the Eldoret National Polytechnic for hosting us and providing an opportunity for various regions to compete in football, basketball, and other events. Our aim is to identify and nurture talents, aligning with the Kenya Kwanza government’s focus on youth talent development,” he said.

The events which are expected to be one of the most entertaining will have both the men’s and women’s categories.
