Bursary beneficiaries in Budalangi advised to work hard for better future

The beneficiaries of Budalangi NG-CDF education bursaries have been urged to take advantage of the opportunity and put more effort in their studies so as to realize their potential.

Speaking to Education News at the Bunyala Sub-county NG-CDF premises on Thursday June 13, Budalangi NG-CDF committee chairman Alfred Wesonga Siduwa said the CDF committee under the patronage of Budalangi MP Raphael Wanjala has given education first priority.

He said though Budalangi NG-CDF committee is committed to supporting the education of needy students in the constituency, parents should not relax but instead do everything within their means to ensure they contribute towards the education of their children.

“The bursary allocation for needy students is just a boost, I am taking this opportunity to ask parents not to leave the burden on the shoulder of the CDF committee,” he said.

He further told the parents that they ought to ensure they supplement the education bursary allocation so as to keep them in school.

In the Financial Year 2023/ 2024, Budalangi NG-CDF committee disbursed a total of KSh44.5 million to facilitate the education of needy students from the constituency.

Out of the bursary allocation, KSh2 million went towards the education of 3673 Students from Bunyala North Ward learning in various universities whereas KSh1.7 million supported the education of 2992 university students from Bunyala West Ward.

2,033 needy students from Bunyala Central Ward benefited from the education bursary with 2563 needy students from Bunyala South ward receiving the education bursary.
