Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET) has said they are ready to accommodate Junior Secondary Schools (JSS) teachers in their union because they their docket is in the Secondary School level although they are domiciled in the Primary premises.
Kisii County Branch Executive Secretary Joseph Bincha was speaking on Friday, June 7 at Sengera location in Bomachoge Chache Constituency during the burial of the late Nicodemus Ang’asa.
“We welcome our brothers and sisters to the Union because it will bargain and stand for them before the employer for better working terms,” he said.
Abincha asked the government to confirm all JSS teachers who were recruited under internship into Permanent and Pensionable terms saying that leaving them on contract is violation of the teachers’ Employment Act.

The Unionist asked teachers to do their work with zeal by loving and guiding their learners because all pupils are not the same in absorbing ideas.
He asked parents to work hand in hand with teachers by sharing about the learners in order to help them succeed in education development which calls for consolidated effort.
The secretary led others teachers to eulogized the deceased as a man who impacted many students through walking his talk by working with determination in moulding the children.
Until his demise, the late Ang’asa was a teacher at St Mary’s Nyabiore Girls School where he was transferred to after working at St Angela Sengera Girls School for a long time.
He leaves behind a widow, who is a teacher too and mother of teenage children.
