Kakamega School 7s rugby team run riot in Kakamega Central Sub-county games

Kakamega School are the champion in the concluded Sub-county rugby 7s in Kakamega Central Sub-county.

The rugby team which is famously known as the “Barbarians” won with authority over the participants with an impressive record of not conceding a single trial in the entire tournament which concluded on Saturday, June 1, 2024.

The institution will represent the county together with Ikonyero Secondary School which secured the second place in the upcoming Kakamega County games.

In the four matches played on a round-robin basis, Kakamega scored a total of 169 points and conceded none against its challengers.

They defeated Shieywe Secondary 55-0, Ebabwa Secondary School 29-0, and Shikoti Secondary 51-0.

In the upcoming county games, Kakamega School will face stiff competition from their rivals Koyonzo and Mukumu, who were the finalists in the sub-county games from their areas.

However, the coach of the team Amos Wamanga is hopeful that his team which has a boastful record as eight-time rugby 15s and five-time rugby 7s KSSSA national champions will reach greater heights this year.
