It was a shocking turn of events at Chesanga Primary School in Bureti Constituency, Kericho County when newly constructed toilets sunk into the ground.

Witnesses said that they heard a loud cracking sound followed by the sight of the toilet sinking into the ground. The disrupted the daily routines of learners and staff.

Fortunately, no one was inside when this happened. However, it has disrupted the daily routines of learners and staff. It has also raised questions as to what could have caused the event since the toilets were only completed a few weeks ago. The construction was facilitated by the Constituency Development Fund (CDF).

Investigations into the cause are underway.

Investigations into the cause of the incident are currently ongoing. Engineers and construction experts have been called in to assess the situation and provide insight into the cause of the toilet sinking.

The incident has resulted in limited sanitary facilities for the staff and the learners as the school administration seeks for temporary solutions while the authorities carry out an investigation into the occurrence.

Residents have shown concern and disbelief over the happening and have expressed worry about the safety other buildings in the area.
