The residents of Malava Sub-county as a whole have embraced the newly instituted change of leadership at Seventh day Adventist Namagara Secondary School.
The residents while welcoming the new leadership confined to the press that the fresh blood at the institution was what they needed after a section of them fell out of favour with the former regime.
Speaking on terms of anonymity the parents expressed their joy as they learned that the new team was a formidable one meant to improve school in all facets.
They passed their gratitude to the education office and the area MP Malulu Injendi for heeding to their plight of having a change at their school.
The school emerged fourth best out of 54 schools in the 2023 KCSE exams.
Judith Luvaha the Principal and her deputy Ibrahim Barasa have both been termed as the needed new energy to steer the school.
The Principal confirmed the Board of Management and teachers have put in place necessary measures to ensure smooth learning.
“We have resumed our learning and we thank God that all our infrastructure are in good conditions and we were not affected by the heavy rains and this is a good sign as it will give us enough time to learn,” she said.
Luvaha pointed out that despite the school population hitting 1060, and having admitted 360 form ones in five streams, adding that the school was having extra three classrooms.

“Our infrastructure remains our pride, as we speak our MP has given as a new building that is almost complete and his support also in terms of bursary has witnessed many learners retained in school.”
On performance, she observed that the school has great potential to become the top considering its upward trend it has been recording in the past years.
“This is a school that has proved itself as an academic hub and with extra coaching and commitment from our teachers and management we shall soar high not only in the sub county but at the county level, hence I calling for a conducive working environment which will only be created by the parents community and all relevant stakeholders in support of our institution,” she added
She said that the girl child was competing effectively and surpassing the boy child who has been left as a result of engaging in boda boda business, cane harvesting and loading. Also engaging in drug abuse and sexual relationships has affected their performance.
The Principal called on parents to nurture the boy child as they were slowly withering away from the academic limelight as more emphasis has been directed to the girl child.
“We need all of the gender to compete favourable but the slump in performance of the boy child is being noticeable across making it a societal matter of consideration. Let not the community turn a deaf ear to them and assume that since they are men they can always find solutions to their problems by themselves but instead advise them on how best they can handle certain matters.”
She added, “Namagara community is very supportive on fee payment and this is what is keeping us going and as long as fee is paid our boys and girls will continue learning where as a school we will do our obligations of moral upbringing with the support of our parents and already we have seen it bearing fruits, let us continue partnering for the betterment of our learners.”
