Mixed results as Nyanza region school games enter final stages

Basketball players compete in school games recently held in Kisii.

Nyanza Region Term One 2024 Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) kicked off Wednesday March 19, 2024 has witnessed many schools put a spirited fight in the games to qualify for next round.

In the basketball, held at Kisumu Day, Kisumu Boys and Kisumu Girls have seen new giants emerging.

In the girls’ category, Nyakach Girls beat Tuk Jowi 50-39, Sengera lost to Ototo Mixed Secondary 41-51. Asumbi Girls beat 39-23 Tuk Jowi as Nyakach Girls walloped Mokomoni 83-11. Ng’iya Girls won 51-30 against Ototo. St Bernabas beat Sengera Girls 49-37.

In the boys’ category, Onjiko High beat Ototo 101-25. Nyansiongo were defeated 31-51 by Ototo as Maseno School fell 40-35 against Sawagongo. Nyansiongo beat Rapogi Boys 36-34.

Agoro Sare triumphed 41-36 against Maseno School as Sawagongo beat Nyanchwa 59-58.

The games are expected to end tomorrow March 23, 2024.
