Nakuru County to employ 159 ECDE teachers this year

Nakuru County Director of Basic Education Peres Mungai has announced the employment of 159 ECDE teachers this year.

The County Government of Nakuru will employ 159 ECDE teachers this year in order to increase the teacher:learner ratio that will boost education in the county.

The Nakuru County Director of Basic Education Peres Mungai said the county government has initiated many strategies to improve the standards of education in the county, this being one of them.

“We encourage all teachers in the 11 sub-counties to ensure our learners acquire quality education to better their future,” said Mungai, adding that important learning infrastructure will be installed in schools to boost learning.

“We will ensure the ECDE centres have good infrastructure and also teachers for effective learning to take place,” said Mungai.

Mungai was speaking at Nakuru Teachers Training College during the 17th graduation ceremony attended by various education stakeholders in the county, whom she appreciated for the role they have played in improving education standards.

Nakuru County has 11 sub-counties; Subukia, Gilgil, Rongai, Kuresoi North, Kuresoi South, Njoro,Bahati, Naivasha, Nakuru East, Nakuru West, and Molo.
