Varsity conducts peaceful elections to pick new officials

Students of Murang’a University of Technology (MUT) held peaceful and successful election today where they elected Justice Jabali as President.

In the elections conducted at the Main Campus in Murang’a and Mariira Campus in Kigumo, Jabali will be deputized by Mitchel Mukami and the Secretary General will be Onesmus Njuguna.

Nexus Party (NP) won at the Main Campus while Comrades Restoration Party (CRP) won at Mariira.

MUT Vice Chancellor Prof Dickson Nyariki congratulated the winners, calling on them to represent the interests of the students well.

“The leadership of the university will work hand in hand with the student leaders as it has been in the past,” said Nyariki.

Other officials who are assuming office are Edward Oyaro as Treasurer, Marcelline Mogisi handling the academic department, Alice Syokau taking the Catering and Accommodation office, and Michael Okoth for Entertainment and Sports.

At Mariira Campus, the Student Council officials are Zaphania Mugambi and Shereen Cherono.
