Double blow for Principal rejected by two schools after TSC transfer

A Principal from Kisii County is in confusion after he was rejected from two schools concurrently over alleged poor results in last year’s KCSE examinations.

Philip Ochoi was earlier ejected by parents and students from Ibacho Secondary School in Nyaribari Masaba Constituency.

The parents said that it did not add up that all candidates scored grade D in Mathematics and none scored above grade D+ overall.

“Does it mean that all of us were incapable of passing Mathematics?” posed one of the affected candidates.

The parents accused Ochoi of being visionless with poor school management skills, demanding his immediate transfer.

Education News learned that TSC later transferred the Principal to Friends Gianchere Secondary School.

However, parents and students rejected him, citing underperformance in his previous station.

“I am ready work anywhere but parents have been incited against me,” he lamented.

When this reporter visited Gianchere Secondary, normal learning had resumed but the compound was in disarray following the demonstrations held by parents.

None of the teachers or staff agreed to comment on the matter.

Kisii County Director of Education Philip Chirchir called for a harmonious working relationship between teachers and parents.

“We cannot solve our problems through violence. Let our parents sober up and stop this emerging trend of violence in our schools,” he said.

His words were echoed by KUPPET Kisii branch Executive Secretary Joseph Abincha.
