Makueni Sub-county Director of Education (SCDE) Yophes Magara is excited about the good results posted in national examinations last year by schools in the region, thanking all stakeholders for working together to that end.

Speaking to Education News in his office, Magara said he was overwhelmed by joy as the unity of purpose gave them the results they have always desired.

“We were working on purpose. We used to meet and emphasize on few things towards good performance. This is how we got the good results,” Magara said.

On transition to secondary school, he noted that as at now they are at 98 per cent, and they are sure to hit 100 per cent as children continue to report.

The officer encouraged parents to make sure that their children do not engage in income generating activities, emphasizing that they have to concentrate on studies to acquire skills and knowledge, as well as build character and attitude as preparation for college life.
